Seminar paper from the year 2016 in the subject Business economics - Company formation, Business Plans, grade: 81%, University of South Wales, language: English, abstract: The paper aims to analyse the current situation of a fictive company and moreover to work out an adequate internationalisation strategy considering the following three key objectives: 1. Reduce labour costs by shifting the production- centre to a low-income country, 2. Enter new markets in countries with a low level of market satisfaction, 3. Enlarge the range and variety of products through a highly educated R&D-Team. After evaluating the business environment, three potential target countries for the internationalisation process are assessed. In a next step the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats are lined out. Moreover a PEST-analysis is conducted to prepare for the location decision. Finally, the most adequate method is selected and a brief conclusion and recommendation are given.
Thomas Wittig aims at gaining additional insights into the crisis and turnaround process of SMEs, investigating both, the turnaround success and the impact of turnaround on the family role in family firms. Based on a specifically developed integrated conceptual turnaround model, the author collected a sample of 209 turnaround cases of German medium-sized companies from restructuring experts working for German banks. Employing a variety of carefully selected statistical analyses he identifies key factors for turnaround success and finds specific archetypes of crises and turnaround. The study concludes with an analysis of the impact of a successful turnaround on the family firms within his sample. Based on the studys insights he provides both, recommendations for future research and a set of practical implications for all relevant stakeholders of a turnaround situation. Dr. Thomas Wittig wrote his dissertation under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Andreas Hack at the Witten Institute for Family Business (WIFU) at Witten/Herdecke University.
The illiterate of the future are not those who cant read or write but those who cannot learn, unlearn, and relearn.- quote by Alvin Toffler What clearly he meant is that we need to learn and unlearn as we continue to stay updated with what that works and those that no longer works Much has changed since the baby boomers days ,including the path of staying ahead in todays digital age. To succeed from now , one must learn to accept the constant change to adaptation - continually unlearning old rules and relearning new ones. That requires continually questioning assumptions about how things has changed , un-valid old paradigms, and relearning what is now relevant to pursue in acquiring your wealth. This book is filled with excellent ideas and concepts of daily struggle to understand money science. There is a lot here in this book that can help an individual move toward financial freedom through understanding money and the mindset required to become wealthy, of which means you need to know what it is that separates the wealthy from the Not-so wealthy. What you need to know and identify with is what principles and what behavior the rich have , and that you need to relearn . Some of which , You have not taken action to Unlearn yet ,to stay Current and Get Ahead Happiness that Money brings cannot last , With Money ,People cannot necessarily materialize everything , However without money many things cannot be done Accumulation of wealth with the pleasure to have comfort , luxuries , reputable status , financial influence, freedom and popularity are what money usually can help to achieve , its provides a centralized role in our lives , at a general necessity stage level as it helps to clothe and feed us ,to put a nice accommodation for stay and pay the bills. Money may not be everything, they may not even guarantee a happy life, but they are a pretty good basis to learn how to build happiness on ... for now I highly recommend this book to anyone whod like to ignore the fluff available on the Internet and take action now. Now that being said, this book assumes you know about the basics like Cash Flow, budgeting, etc. It doesnt talk about investment mediums like stock market, bond, etc. And the best part is that unlike many books, this book tells you not to lead a frugal life

This book explores the internationalization of Turkish multinationals by examining a set of firms from various industries and providing eleven detailed case studies. The authors aim to discover the reasons behind the drive for internationalization within the firms, and how their internationalization processes work. By focusing on a medium-sized emerging country, which is strategically located at the intersection of European, Asian and African markets, Turkish Multinationals provide a significant contribution to research on multinational firms in emerging countries. Topics discussed include: strategic motives for and drivers of internationalization at multiple levels (firm, industry and institutional); the location, ownership and entry modes of multinational firms; and their market entry and post-acquisition strategies, which are critical to the evolution of the internationalization process. This innovative book will offer an alternative perspective to current debate on emerging markets, and will be of great interest to both academics of global strategy and international business, and policy-makers. Business and environmental sustainability are not natural bedfellows. Business is about making money; sustainability is about protecting the planet. Business is measured in months and quarters; sustainability often requires significant short term costs to secure a sometimes uncertain long-term benefit. To some activists, all executives are exploitative, selfish 1 percenters. To some executives, all activists are irresponsible, unyielding extremists. And yet engaging with the issue isnt optional - all businesses must have a strategy to deal with sustainability and, like any strategy, this involves making choices. Strategy and Sustainability encourages its readers to filter out the noise and make those choices in a hard-nosed and clear-eyed way. Rosenbergs nuanced and fact-based point of view recognizes the complexity of the issues at hand and the strategic choices businesses must make. He blends the work of some of the leading academic thinkers in the field with practical examples from a variety of business sectors and geographies and offers a framework with which Senior Management might engage with the topic, not (just) to save the planet but to fulfil their short, medium, and long-term responsibilities to shareholders and other stakeholders. Mike Rosenberg is an Assistant Professor at IESE Business School. Professor Rosenberg joined the faculty at IESE after working for more than 15 years as a Management Consultant for companies such as Arthur D. Little, A.T. Kearney, and Heidrich & Struggles working in Europe, North America, and Asia. Professor Rosenberg lectures on Strategy, Globalization, and Sustainability in IESEs MBA and executive programs. He is also Academic Director of a number of the schools top-ranked executive education programs. In addition to his academic work, Professor Rosenberg routinely consults with leading international companies and is asked to speak on topics relating to scenario planning, sustainability, and managing global firms.

The production of beer today occurs within a bifurcated industrial structure. There exists a small number of large, global conglomerates supplying huge volumes of a limited range of beers, and a plethora of small and medium breweries producing a diverse range of beers sold under unique brands. Brewing, Beer and Pubs addresses a range of contemporary issues and challenges in this key sector of the global economy, and includes contributions by research specialists from a variety of countries and disciplines. This book includes the marketing and globalization of the brewing industry, beer excise duties and market concentration, and reflections upon developments in brewing and beer consumption across the world in order to explore the wide-reaching influence of this industry. Alongside these global topics more localised themes are presented such as market integration in the Chinese beer and wine markets, beer and brewing in Africa and South America, and turbulence and change in the UK public house industry, which demonstrate how the consumption of beer in pubs and other social environments make the beer industry integral to local communities and regions worldwide.
